Caught a great sunrise @ Lagoon. Tried out the new PHILZ on 2nd Street for coffee. Great coffee but a bit pricey. Finished the Thistle = Hadji Murad and have moved on to Tolstoy's Death of Ivan Ilyich . Walked to the Belmont Pier and along the beach. Passed Danny on the walking path. *

Some fantastic "bruises" (camera doesn't tell the whole story) above the lagoon: Ragnarok or The Second Coming. Checked for the swan later in the morning and it was gone: Swan's Way. *



                

Bucked near there (off of Bellflower) so I could get some painting equipment as soon as they opened. Touch up job. *     

Slept in till 6:30. Woke to this. The usual trek: Bucks, Lagoon, Back. *     



Crazy dream in which I was student and teacher. Something like that. Seemed good when I woke at about 4 to empty the bladder. Couldn't sleep so I headed to Starbucks in Sunset Beach. Walked in Bolsa Chica. Hadn't been for awhile. * 

Very hard to get close enough to shoot. Gun shy. In this case I caught him by surprise: she was munching on some corn. She gave me a few secs before she flipped her white tail and bounded off.

      



      

                                          

Had a 24 hour card on the vaporettos I wanted to use up. Was hoping for San Giorgio but it was too early for that ride. Opted for the Lido. Had been before (searching for Dirk Bogarde or Mahler's Adagietto) but hadn't thought much of it. Anyway, I had a wonderful morning and I walked and walked. *
