Clouds like smoke, and Saddleback on the horizon. PHILZ. Amos Oz. T S Eliot and "cultural conservatism." Went down 2nd, down Granada, past St. Bart's, around the lagoon and home. *

Last day of PLTW. Different venue for the final send-off: Huron High School (The River Rats). Stopped at Gallup Park (stumbled onto) around sunrise for a short walk. Back to CA and Long Beach either Tuesday or Wednesday. School starts Aug. 13th. *

                      



Might walk down. Not so much for the music as a nostalgic turn (much lighter than a Heideggerian "turn") and after dinner walk. We used to take the girls when they were younger. Don't think we went down once last summer. *             

A cool place to fish, but would you want to eat it? * 

I can never remember its official name, so I've always called it the "Other Mother's Beach." It's the small strip of sand in front of the 2nd Street Library. Anyway, it's early (the guys in the sandpit living room said they got there around 7), and you can hardly see the water for the canopies. We will, however, probably mosey down to the beach for the 15 minutes of snap, crackle, and pop. Distracted from distraction by distraction, or some such verbal chain. *
