Without Lifting A Finger

One friend suggested the change (we usually do Mugu). Another joined to make three. A beautiful June gloom day -- though I ended up getting a bit of redness (paleface). Easy walk. Felt like we had the park to ourselves. Neptune's Net for the usual after-eats. That's Point Dume in the distance. *

Long drive up the 405. Even worse coming back. But we decided to meet beyond Point Dume and do a little hiking. Beautiful day. You felt like you'd left civilization behind (according to T-Mobile, I was off the map!).  A celebration. Old friends. Can't do any better than that. Only problems: being old and a couple gonzo mountain bikers. Afterwards & afterwords: some reasonably priced seafood at Neptune's Net. *                            

                                                                                                            

Malibu Seafood , a photo by dabuda on Flickr. Not always easy to get in and out of the place (small parking lot and it's right off PCH), but the food is good, prices ok, and if you're lucky you might see a dolphin in the big blue.

Getty Villa , a photo by iansand on Flickr. Been there before (more than a handful of times) but we wanted a day trip and thought of this: a stop at the Getty Villa and then up the coast (just a bit more) to Malibu Seafood. Will get a few pics of my own.

Skipped some of the usual sights (see earlier posts from Dec/Jan). Missed the dolphin in the curl of a wave.                                    

Don't get up that way (anymore) often enough. Took a few old friends with me: A, B, and C. C. was the first to spot a spout. We finished the day at Malibu Seafood (OK food, great view) and then suffered a bit with the traffic back to Long Beach. A beautiful day. Still wielding the Nokia.
